The history of European integration; how did we become a Union? What kind of Union are we?
With the current economic crisis, we often hear negative comments about “Brussels” and “what Europe has decided”
This lecture will try to show that not everything is so negative and that incredible improvements have taken place since the beginning of the integration.
It will highlight especially 3 aspects that are of interest for pupils and individuals in general:
– economic recovery and growth, until today
– individual rights such as freedom of movements, free movement of capitals and the Euro
– protection of fundamental rights and its evolution
